Abstract:
The entrances of Beduin shelters in the Rafah-Kurum El-Sheikh area were found to be opposite to the direction of the prevailing wind as recorded at the nearest meteorological station. The dominant wind in the winter is an almost true westerly wind. The method of determining the wind direction by aerial photography from the orientation of shelters of nomads could be used for areas lacking climatological records. © 1971.
