Abstract:
In Anemone coronaria L. summer dormancy in Israel can be induced by long photoperiods even in the middle of the winter. Cultivation in Europe has reduced but not eliminated this response to daylength. Daylength did not affect the time of flowering but dormancy caused early cessation of flowering under long days. Another effect of long-day treatment was to produce longer scapes. © 1984 Annals of Botany Company.
