Phosfon D (tributyl-2,4, dichlorobenzyl phosphonium chloride), a plant growth retardant with antigibberellic as well as chemosterilant characteristics, significantly retarded maturation of Meloidogyne javanica on tomato when mixed in soil and inhibited reproduction of Panagrellus redivivus when applied to the medium. The chemical retarded internode elongation of the tomato but did not affect gall structure. © 1974 BRILL.
