Abstract:
Spodoptera littoralis moths were collected from two mercury vapor light traps in Israel, sexed, and the females dissected to establish the number of times each had mated. The sex ratio was in favor of males. The higher the percentage of males in the trap, the higher was the corresponding percentage of mated females and number of matings per female. Most S. littoralis females mated more than once. The mating status varied with location and season. © 1980 Springer Science + Business Media B.V.
