Abstract:
The response of potatoes to salinity as obtained by four combinations of the use of waters of different qualities was studied under drip irrigation. The different combinations were: a) water mixing in the supply network; b) changing water at alternate irrigation; c) use saline water only in the first half of the irrigation season; d) use saline water only in the second half of the irrigation season. For each combination, different mean salinity levels were tested. The crop response to mean salinity was similar for combinations a, b and d and showed a more severe damage for combination c.
