Abstract:
Tillage force and tractor performance data are presented for subsoiling and subsoil-bedding in five different coastal plain soil conditions. Increase of draft with increasing subsoiling depth is documented. Soils with the B-horizon closest to the surface required the highest draft and fuel consumption. Draft values from this study generally were within the range of those data published in the ASAE standards but tended to be on the low side of the range.
