Abstract:
Some theoretical considerations based on Newton's laws of motion are presented, a mathematical model for a tomato fruit at time of impact is discussed and solutions for measurement and grading error evaluation are proposed. An instrument to facilitate the required feasibility tests was developed. These tests indicate that the measurement and suggested analysis yield reliable design information for the future development of tomato grading machine.
