Abstract:
1. 1. A method for identifying sugars was developed. 2. 2. Examination of the hemolymph of queens and drones, the spermathecae of virgin and mated queens and the seminal vesicles showed the presence of glucose, fructose, trehalose and one unidentified sugar. 3. 3. A test for trehalase in the above samples showed that its activity is similar in hemolymph of males and females. 4. 4. High trehalase activity was found in the spermathecae. © 1969.
