Mites of the family Phytoseiidae are of considerable economic importance, because they often prey upon phytophagous mites, thrips, whiteflies and some other insects. The present paper comprises distribution of the genera Amblyseiella Muma, Amblyseius Berlese, Eharius Tuttle and Muma, Euseius Wainstein, Iphiseius Berlese, Kampimodromus Nesbitt, Neoseiulus Hughes, Phytocerus Amitai and Swirski, Phytoseiulus Evans, Typhloseiella Muma (subfamily Amblyseiinae); Phytoseius Ribaga (Subfamily Phytoseiinae); Amblydromella Muma, Bawus van der Merwe, Clavidromus Muma, Cydnoseius Muma, Neoseiulella Muma, Paragigagnathus Amitai and Grinberg, Typhlodromus Scheuten and Typhloseiulus Chant and McMurtry (Subfamily Typhlodrominae) in Israel. Plant hosts, geographical distribution, phenology and available data on food habits are given for each species.
