Abstract:
Laboratory experiments were conducted to determine the adaptability of Trachinotus ovatus to various salt concentrations. It was found that the minimum salinity tolerated by juvenile T. ovatus (pampano) on direct transfer is 20% sea water (S=8.7‰). Through gradual adaptation the fish can withstand salinity up to 1.5‰. © 1973.
