Abstract:
A numerical model for the simultaneous transport of anions and water was compared with measured chloride and water flow data. Laboratory soil-column experiments were conducted under conditions of infiltration, redistribution, and evaporation of water in the upper part of the soil profile. The effects of convection, ionic diffusion, mechanical dispersion, anion exclusion, and water flow in response to salt concentration gradients on the comparison between numerical and measured data were considered jointly.
