1. 1. Choice experiments between some phagostimulant sugars were made with larvae of Spodoptera littoralis using the Styropor method. 2. 2. In multi-choice experiments, sucrose and fructose at 1 4 M were much more active than glucose, raffinose, melibiose and maltose. When sucrose was pitted against fructose alone, approximately equal activity was obtained. 3. 3. The concentrations of sucrose, fructose and glucose which were phagostimulatory equivalent to 1 4 M raffinose, maltose, melibiose, glucose, mannose and galactose, were determined. © 1972.
