Abstract:
After estabxlishing a permanent omasal fistula in a ram, solutions containing histamine with or without formic or acetic acid were introduced directly into the omasum. It was found that histamine, together with formic or acetic acid, stopped feeding and rumen motility, but formic acid and histamine, infused separately, had no effect on food intake. © 1968, Cambridge University Press.
