Abstract:
Feeding experiments with three doses (10, 25, and 50g/ha) of teflubenzuron sprayed on wheat or barley seedlings were carried out. A strong reduction in fecundity during and after treatment was found in A. thalassinus, but not in E. plorans; egg number per pod of A. thalassinus was reduced by c50%. Reduction of fertility was even more pronounced than that of fecundity in both species. Rates of subsequent adult emergence and the sex ratio were not influenced by TFB in either species. -from Authors
