Abstract:
1. 1. Disc electrophoresis of blood plasma and yolk granules of the laying hen revealed that dialysis in citrate buffer resulted in transfer of phosphorus from one of the upper fractions to the prealbumin region. 2. 2. In plasma samples the particular fraction was located in the first quarter of the gel. whereas in the yolk granules it was at the origin of the gel. 3. 3. As phosvitin migrates to the prealbumin region, it is concluded that the citrate buffer resulted in splitting phosvitin from the lipophosphoprotein complex characteristic for laying. © 1979.
