Cultivated plants of Microtneria fruticosa were examined for morphological and phenological changes during the year.Plantsgrown continuously without any interference until the winter, started flowering at mid summer and reached peak flowering only in September. The essential oil content was higher in leaves than in flowers, and the main component in the oil, pulegone (approximately 80% of the oil), dropped during the flowering period. © 1995, The Haworth Press.
