Abstract:
The Dialogue Manager is part of the Entity Model Manager (OEM manager) database system. The function of the Dialogue Manager is to collect the user input and to generate an appropriate response. The system makes use of the fact that natural languages are based on something that has been said before. The Dialogue Manager keeps track of the dialogue history and uses Yes-No questions., Elliptic sentences, and Anaphoric references to manipulate and process the language. The Yes-No feature has been implemented in the software based on the fact that most of the questions of a natural language require a Yes or No answer. Similarly, the Ellipsis feature of the program is used to answer the incomplete sentences that are frequently used in natural language. The Anaphoric references feature keeps track of the preceding referents or phrases used in the sentences.
