The inheritance of eight macro-mutants induced by diethyl sulfate in peanuts, A. hypogaea, was studied by crossing them to the original variety. Five mutations were inherited monogenically with the mutant allele being fully recessive. Three other mutations gave somewhat irregular F2 segregations, but apparently they also were recessive and monogenic. Their irregular F2 segregations could have originated from unequal transmission of the mutant allele in one case and segregation of micro-mutations induced simultaneously in the background genotype in two others. © 1970 Pergamon Press.
