Abstract:

The motivation of the paper is to compare similarity measures used for multi-modal registration, and to suggest an approach that combines those measures in a way that the registration parameters are weighted according to the strength of each measure. The approach is tested on fruit tree registration using multiple sensors. We found that the combined approach performed statistically better than using measure independently. Recommendations for improvements are offered.
