Abstract:

In the following chapter, recent advances in laser technology and a number of application
domains are discussed and reviewed, focusing primarily on lasers' applications in precision
interactions and collaboration. To this end, a number of laser characteristics and roles are
observed; a framework with four collaboration functions and five collaboration dimensions is
defined. Such taxonomy framework is believed to enable a better understanding of the
existing opportunities that laser-based technology offers, its advantages and opportunities.
