Abstract:

Background: In chronic graft versus host disease (cGVHD) an immune attack by
transplanted donor lymphocytes results in inflammatory damage. Immune
hyporesponsiveness induced by oral antigen administration has been shown to suppress
immune-mediated-disorders. Aim: To evaluate the efficacy on cGVHD of oral tolerization
prior to or following transplantation. Methods: cGVHD was generated by infusing 2.5 xlO
splenocytes from BIO. D2 donor mice, to sublethally irradiated (6Gy) Balb/C recipient mice …
