Soaking carrot roots in a solution of 100 ppm GA3 or spraying the young foliage developed from a planted root resulted in seed yields comparable with those obtained with the best cold storage treatment. With non-bolting cultivars a combination of root soaking and foliar sprays caused a higher percentage of plants to flower than did spraying alone.
