Abstract:
Abstract. The wax scales species Waxiella africana (Green, 1899) stat.n. and W.mimosae (Signoret, 1872) are recognized as distinct species. Redescriptions are given for the females of both species and lectotypes designated. Waxiella tamaricis sp.n., collected on Tamarix articulata in Israel, is described from the female. Ceroplastes africanus cristatus Green, 1899, C.africanus senegalensis Marchal, 1909, C.gwaai Hodgson, 1969, and C.uvariae Marchal, 1909 are transferred to Waxiella. Copyright © 1986, Wiley Blackwell.
