Abstract:
The order of toxicity of triphenyltin chloride > trans-2-hydroxycyclohexyl-triphenyltin > cyclohexyltriphenyltin was established, when these compounds were assayed against Tribolium confusum. Larval growth retardation, probably due to an antifeedant effect, was observed with all three compounds. The higher activity of trans-2-hydroxycyclohexyltriphenyltin compared with that of cyclohexyltriphenyltin may be due to a metabolic deoxystannylation reaction, which produces a triphenyltin derivative and cyclohexene. © 1982 Springer Science + Business Media B.V.
