Abstract:
The error analysis of evaporation measurements by the energy balance/Bowen ratio method, based on differential psychrometry, indicates that the contribution of wet and dry-bulb temperature measurement errors is directly proportional to the Bowen ratio. The lumped net radiation and soil heat flux density error enters the error equation as a separate term. The analysis suggests that equalizing the temperatures of the air streams reaching the wet-bulb thermometers can substantially reduce the errors. © 1970.
