Abstract:
The thermoregulatory behaviour pattern described enables Capra ibex nubiana, during a clear winter day, to absorb sufficient heat through its dark fur to sustain the intense fall in temperature which occurs a few hours after sunset, and thus to survive the cold winter-provided that it has ample food, freely accessible water, and can exploit a sheltered microenvironment during the night.-from Authors
