Abstract:
Physalis peruviana shrubs were not attacked by larvae of Spodoptera littoralis. It was demonstrated that withanolide E, a steroid isolated from P. peruviana, as well as several related steroids, have insect antifeedant properties. © 1980 Birkhäuser Verlag.
