Abstract:
Protein secretion from locust fat body incubated in vitro is instantaneously halted in the presence of diamide (azodicarboxylic acid-bis-dimethylamide). Independent inhibition of amino acid uptake, protein synthesis (verified in cell-free systems), and protein secretion is demonstrated. Diamide inhibits cyclic AMP- and cyclic GMP-dependent protein kinase activity in locust fat body. © 1978.
