Abstract:
Twelve Israeli-Friesian calves were castrated at 132 days of age. Six to eleven copulation tests were carried out on each animal from the age of 7 months until slaughter at 15-16 months of age. Nine animals mounted a female, exhibiting pelvic thrusts, in thirty-six out of seventy-sevent tests. The mounting was slow and the forelegs were in a more anterior position than in intact animals. Three animals failed to mount a female. © 1966.
