Abstract:

Phloem-restricted, insect-borne plant pathogens pose a major threat to agricultural products. We recently found a novel endophytic bacterium that can be introduced into crop plants and markedly reduce yellows and greening disease symptoms. The bacterium is being developed as an environmentally safe, affordable and effective solution for one of the main challenges currently facing agriculture worldwide.
