Abstract:

Kochba derives from the cross Greek × Nonpareil. Yields on almond seedling rootstock have been 30% higher than those of Ne Plus Ultra, and the 5-year average kernel yield was 1700 kg/ha. It flowers earlier than Ne Plus Ultra, and later than Um el Fahm, and 80% of the fruit is borne on spurs. The shells are semihard and completely sealed, and the kernels light coloured, moderately large and fairly uniform. The rate of infestation by the carob moth, Ectomyelois ceratoniae, is very low.
