Abstract:
Influence of soil organic matter on the adsorption-desorption of parathion was studied by using tagged insecticide. It was found that the parathion adsorption by soils is dependent on the type of association between the organic and mineral colloids. In aqueous solutions the parathion has a greater affinity for organic than for mineral adsorptive surfaces. Parathion bonding is stronger on organic than on mineral surfaces.
